Hey everyone! Cameron here, with another anime review for you all. I’m especially excited about this review, because this was originally going to be my first review for the website. However, due to the fact that I had not finished it yet, I was not able to review it, haha! Anyways, let’s get on to the review.
Attack on Titan is my second favorite anime of all time. It has the perfect amount of tragedy, action, and suspense. The characters all have a well-written backstory and script, and are very well-developed. Combine that with excellent English and Japanese voice acting, great music, and the most bada$$ theme songs of any anime I have ever watched, and you make for one ultimate anime series.
The story follows three main characters in a post-apocalyptic world that has become inhabited by humanoid creatures known as Titans. The Titans eat what is left of the humans, which have made their last city, which is divided by three walls. A Titan known as the Colossal Titan breaks through the first wall, which is where the three main characters live. A tragic death causes Eren to want revenge, and kill all the Titans. Mikasa, the girl he saved as a child and grew up with, stands by his side through thick and thin, while their childhood friend Armin tries to help them see reason. This causes a few situations that end up with more tragedies. However, the voice acting and the animation make these situations feel real. You feel like you just lost a loved one whenever a side character loses a life. That’s one of the amazing things about this anime, it makes you experience the same emotions that the characters feel, due to the great development of each character.
Each season has about 25 episodes each, which is perfect in my opinion. I don’t think an anime should go on for too long, because it gets boring. However, it can’t be too short either, because then the season leaves much to be desired. Attack on Titan is the prime example of how an anime in this genre should be made.
Another thing this anime got right was suspense. A drastic thing would happen, and the solution would come a few episodes later, and somehow the anime keeps you interested in the situation until the end of it a few episodes later. They do this by involving the viewer in any different situations until the main one is solved.
Due to all of these components: the suspense, the voice acting, the music, the action, the characters themselves, the tone, the story, the script, and even the side characters, make this one the best animes available. I give Attack on Titan 5/5 Lukes. If the score would let me go higher, I would. I highly recommend that you watch this anime IMMEDIATELY.
