Welcome to another of my Battle Pet guides. This time we’ll be looking at the quest Battle Pet Tamers: Pandaria. These trainers are also available as Dailies, and are an excellent way to level your Pets.
Fight 1. Hyuna of the Shrines
The Jade Forest
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Nexus Whelpling : Tail Sweep, Mana Surge, Arcane Storm
Slot 2. Leveling Pet
Slot 3. Any Moth : Alpha Strike, Cocoon Strike, Moth Dust
Strat:
Skyshaper – Arcane Storm, Mana Surge, Mana Surge. Skyshaper dies.
Fangor – Mana Surge will complete with one more go. Then switch to your leveling Pet. Fangor will Burrow so switch to the Moth. Finish him by spamming Alpha Strike.
Dor the Wall – His first attack is a Headbutt so you Cocoon Strike to block it. Moth Dust, then spam Alpha Strike until he’s dead, throwing in a Moth Dust on CD.
Fight 2. Farmer Nishi
Valley of the Four Winds
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Leveling Pet
Slot 2. Any Strider : Water Jet, Cleansing Rain, Pump
Slot 3. Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot : Missile, Toxic Smoke, Sticky Grenade
Strat:
Siren – Her first attack will be to cast Sunlight so use your leveling pet to soak and then swap to your Strider. Cast Cleansing Rain to get rid of Sunny Day, then Pump (activate), Pump (release), Water Jet, Water Jet. Siren should be dead but if not another Water Jet should do the trick.
Toothbreaker – His first move will be Sons of the Root, so if you’re faster throw in a Water Jet to hit him before he does. Then while he is down and un-attackable for the next 2 rounds, cast Cleansing Rain & Pump (activate). When he comes back up hit him with Pump (release) then spam Water Jet.
Brood of Mothallus – Swap to your Rocket Bot. Sticky Grenade. Then Brood will Burrow so Pass. When he comes back up Toxic Smoke then spam Missile. It wont take long for victory.
Fight 3. Mo’ruk
Krasarang Wilds
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Darkmoon Zeppelin : Missile, Bombing Run, Decoy
Slot 2. Leveling Pet
Slot 2. Nether Faerie Dragon : Arcane Blast, Life Exchange, Moonfire
Note: Ensure that your leveling pet has over 500HP and is not Aquatic.
Strat:
Woodcarver –
1. Bombing Run
2. Decoy
3. Missile
4. Missile
5. Bombing Run should now Bomb him and finish him off, if not another Missile will.
Lightstalker – Swap in your leveling pet for 1 round to soak Lightstalker’s Moth Dust then swap to the Faerie Dragon.
1. Moonfire
2. Arcane Blast
3. Arcane Blast – Lightstalker should be dead, if not Arcane Blast.
Needleback –
1. Life Exchange
2. Moonfire
3. Spam Arcane Blast until the Dragon dies. If Needleback isn’t killed, swap back to the Zeppelin to finish him off.
Fight 4. Courageous Yon
Kun-lai Summit
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Leveling Pet
Slot 2. Anubisath Idol : Crush, Sandstorm, Deflection
Slot 3. Leveling Pet
Note 1: This fight is an absolute breeze and can be easily solo’d by the Anubisath Idol, so it is the perfect fight to level up 2 pets.
Note 2: Getting to Yon can be a major pain for non-level 90 toons, but it can be done. Go to Kota Base Camp, look for Uncle Keenbean, take the quest ‘Kota Blend’. Do the follow-up, ‘A Fair trade’. Take the follow-up to that, ‘The Burlap Grind’. Ride the giant yeti to the top of the mountain, dismount on the little shelf to the south and look for the cave:
Strat:
Piqua – Start with one of your leveling Pets (whichever has the highest HP). Once Piqua uses Squawk, swap to your Idol. Piqua will Lift-Off so use Deflection. Now Piqua will start using Flock, so use Sandstorm. This reduces the incoming damage by 74, completely mitigating any damage from Flock. Then, just spam Crush until he’s down, using Sandstorm on CD and Deflection when he uses Lift-Off.
Lapin – Continue the above strat for this enemy – spam Crush until he’s down, using Sandstorm on CD and Deflection when he uses Burrow. When he dies, switch to the second leveling pet.
Bleat – Bleat’s first attack will either be Chew or Bleat. As soon as the ability has been used, switch back to Anubisath Idol. Bleat’s favourite ability is Stampede, so use Sandstorm (to completely mitigate its damage), then spam Crush until he’s dead.
Fight 5. Seeker Zusshi
Townlong Steppes
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Emperor Crab : Surge, Healing Wave, Shell Shield
Slot 2. Leveling Pet
Slot 3. Gilnean Raven : Alpha Strike, Call Darkness, Nocturnal Strike
Strat:
Diamond – Start with a Shell Shield then Healing Wave. Then just spam Surge, using Shell Shield and Healing Wave on CD.
Mollus – Keep up the rotation from Diamond, start with a Shell Shield then Healing Wave, then just spam Surge, using Shell Shield and Healing Wave on CD. Keeping to this rotation means that you’ll heal or shield when he Dives and not waste a turn. When he dies, swap to your leveling pet.
Skimmer – His first attack is a Cleansing Rain, which means your leveling pet will be fine and can be swapped for your Raven. Call Darkness then Nocturnal Strike and then spam Alpha Strike until he’s dead.
Fight 6. Wastewalker Shu
The Dread Wastes
Note: This is probably the hardest trainer fight to level a lowbie pet on. His pets Pounder and Mutilator do substantial damage so it is important to have the right combo to beat them. I actually have 2 different strats I use for this guy. Strat #1 is my most reliable, but Strat #2 is also viable, but since your leveling Pet needs to actually fight, it is important it be at least L20+, and not be a Critter.
Strat #1:
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Leveling Pet
Slot 2. Anubisath Idol : Crush, Sandstorm, Deflection
Slot 3. Darkmoon Tonk : Missile, Shock and Awe, Ion Cannon
Crusher – Start with your leveling pet. Once it has survived a round swap to the Idol. Sandstorm, then use Deflection to avoid the Whirlpool resolution. Now spam Crush and rinse repeat until Crusher is dead.
Pounder – Keep going with the Idol, spamming Crush. It’s up to you whether you want to use Sandstorm, as Pounder also has this ability and likes to use it (in fact it’s his opening move). Try and keep Deflection for his Rupture ability, which is his second move, and is cast again 4 rounds later. Otherwise keep spamming Crush.
Mutilator – Swap to your Tonk. Shock and Awe then Missile. This should get him to around 700HP. If not one more Missile will. Then Ion Cannon for victory.
Strat #2:
Pets Needed:
Slot 1. Jade Owl : Slicing Wind, Adrenaline Rush, Lift Off
Slot 2. Any Strider : Water Jet, Cleansing Rain, Pump
Slot 3. Leveling Pet
Crusher – Slicing Wind x 3, then Lift Off to avoid the Whirlpool resolution. Rinse repeat until Crusher is dead. Then swap to your Strider (unless your Owl is Rooted, which in this case keep going until you can swap out).
Pounder – First he’s going to cast Sandstorm so cast Cleansing Rain to negate. Then Pump (activate), Pump (release), Water Jet, Water Jet. Pounder should be dead but if not another Water Jet should do the trick.
Mutilator – Keep going with your Strider. Cast Cleansing Rain then Pump (activate), Pump (release), then spam Water Jet until dead. Then swap to your leveling Pet and finish Mutilator off.
